The Antiquarian Booksellers' Association of America (ABAA) was founded in 1949; it is the United States' senior body for the professional rare book trade.
The ABAA is a member of the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB); all its members adhere to the ABAA's Code of Ethics and ILAB's Code of Customs and Usages, requiring books and related material to be accurately and professionally described and to guarantee the authenticity and genuineness of all material for sale.
These standards apply to all types of bookselling, whether online or at a bookshop or traditional ILAB-sanctioned book fair.
